I've never seen the Illuminati as being a feasible group that exits. The name is ganked from a secret society from the 1700s created in part by a Jesuit. As far as a real shadow government I think it's more likely one does exist but may vary by country instead of being united. E.g. Shadow USA/Shadow European Union/China/ect.
