Howdy folks. Has anyone heard of, or have any information on, the servitor/egregore Messeth? Threads about him tend to pop up on 4ch*n's /x/ every so often, so I wondered if anyone had any experience of summoning him, or any other info on him.

The originating thread has been archived: http://archive.no-ip.org/x/thread/7601888
You probably already found that, of course.

Honestly, from what I could tell the OP's staunch refusal to provide background as to where this came from makes it come off as a bit of a hoax.
That being said, if enough people use it it eventually forms an egregore anyways, right? So maybe the ritual still works in a sense.

Although, then... TheWiz !!UcM50AJyS8g (about 3/4 of the way down) provides an interesting theory. That being that Messeth was one of many "unnamed spirits" that worked out a deal with the OP in order to have its assumed name spread around in this way, so as to rise in rank.
Of course, TheWiz was then accused of bullshitting a lot on other threads sooo...

Not the person to ask, but under what circumstance would summoning any demon be positive?

Cheers for the link - I didn't have it because for once, I posted something without really researching anything about it, so it's much appreciated. My assumption was that Messeth was a servitor that someone (or some people) on /x/ created purely to test if they could make a bro-servitor, not that it was a "legitimate" demon in the first place (if we're taking "legitimate" to mean that it's appeared in grimoires prior to being spread on the internet, not actually calling into question the legitimacy of any spirit/demon/etc).

It's certainly a possibility that Messeth is some sort of entity that the OP is using for a reason other than what he specified, I suppose, which would be an interesting twist. I think I'll summon him and see what happens.

Why wouldn't it be positive? Most folks nowadays assert that "demons" are just spirits that may have/induce/represent negative qualities, but that doesn't mean that any situation involving them will be negative - some would claim that you're working with your own demons whenever you're attempting self-analysis, psychotherapy or what-have-you. Add to that the number of god-like entities that were categorised as "demons" by other religions, and you may notice that the word "demon" really doesn't really tell you anything about an entity other than "someone thought it might be bad".

I'm interested in hearing what you can learn from summoning him. Please update the thread when you do :D

Really interested myself.
But is it possible that sigil was simply made for feeding Messeth, even the incantation for summoning, If you make a servitor in a right way, one summons it, servitor feeds and then leaves. That way any minor luck would be believed to be his effect, making the same person repeat the feeding process.

Even then, wouldn't the sigil stuck in our heads feed some minor energy to Messeth?

Messeth is for sure was not something big in the beginning, major demons would require a sacrifice just to contact you in the first place, do they not?

And even if creator of Messeth is just milking us for energy, would it really hurt us to try?

Sorry for my babbling, my thoughts are not concentrated as usually today for some reason, so I might just sound silly...
