What are you familiar with? What have you tried, what is your level of comfort?

How do you frame your supernatural/magical reality? In Christian/Catholic terms? In Shamanistic/Totemic terms? Wiccan? Judaic/Kabbalistic? Shinto and spirits? Ancestors? A mix of everything (also known as chaos magic)?

Note that all the answers are correct (from my point of view, YMMV). However the way to obtain what you seek varies greatly depending on your approach.
