Hey guys. For part of a ritual I want to cut a piece of skin in the shape of a five-pointed star wholly off of my body; I wanted to ask if this would be impossible or really dumb for a specific reason. It seems to me like this would be safe; painful but not producing very much blood. Just let me know if there's some obvious safety protocol I should take with this or anything.

Forgot to add that I'm aware of the traditions of body modification, things like Ta Moko, ect but that's a bit different I think.
personally, i don't have any qualms with it, but basically, just remember to cease any infections whatsoever, get help if the ruptured skin gets infected or severe in the meantime. as people say about tattoos and piercings, it's your body, do what you will. if you decide so, be safe and good luck.

Really interested myself.
But is it possible that sigil was simply made for feeding Messeth, even the incantation for summoning, If you make a servitor in a right way, one summons it, servitor feeds and then leaves. That way any minor luck would be believed to be his effect, making the same person repeat the feeding process.
Even then, wouldn't the sigil stuck in our heads feed some minor energy to Messeth?
Messeth is for sure was not something big in the beginning, major demons would require a sacrifice just to contact you in the first place, do they not?
And even if creator of Messeth is just milking us for energy, would it really hurt us to try?
Sorry for my babbling, my thoughts are not concentrated as usually today for some reason, so I might just sound silly...

I've been having a thought. Seems like time for a new thread. I've been wondering if anyone else thinks that it could be possible for psychic energy to be transmitted through technology, like phones or internet connections. If you consider the nature of things, that it is just 'energy' then feasibly it could be transmitted from one person to another over a large distance...given that it doesn't dissipate like I'd think it does. One a couple occasions, starting only as a joke, I've done a couple "Have psionic ability, ask me anything threads"....and I was surprised how accurate I was in answering questions that there is no way I could have known the answer to. I did try to 'connect' with the people asking me questions, it was kind of like trying to pull a single thread out of a spool of yarn I would say, or a single grain of sand out of a pile, but I got close a couple of times. Hearing what I want to hear? Using cold reading techniques unintentionally for success? Or does this have some credence to it?

Good point on user names, I know I'm fairly attached to mine. I think of it less in terms of magic, but in science. Pseudoscience at best I suppose, I was just wondering if anyone else had any experiences in which they accomplished what I had. Readings/ect done via the internet or in another disconnected manner that were more information to that person than just simply cold reading techniques.

I've done (and still have the thread open) tarot and oracle readings in this manner, but I have not really experiemented in other kinds of "energy work" like that (meaning, empathic, energy transfer, etc).
I recall when I was younger, I found a book in the library which supposedly had a variety of collected information on various works of witchcraft. Among them was an example of a man who, after having learned of the Tibettan "Tulpa", sought to create his own ghost. Eventually, this evolved into a full-fledged haunting which required an exorcism (or so they book said).
In any case, I've been reading up on sigils, egregores, and servitors quite a lot lately and I was struck by a strange hypothetical.
In the men's bathroom of one of the buildings on my university campus, someone has scrolled the attached picture onto a stall door. As at first I was unable to figure out what the picture was (for some reason, my mind immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was a map. Not just stylized writing), I spend a little bit of time puzzling over it whenever I saw it. In a way, I've come to realize, I was sending it energy much as I might a sigil...if I am to understand how sigils work.
This led to a strange, hypothetical though: If a sigil were placed in a spot where many people were to see it, and that sigil were intriguing enough to cause them to...
I had a thought, I'm not too savvy on how this thing works, but what if you 'hid' sigils under chairs or something to give it an extra boost?

The way I understand sigils to work is that they need to be visible, so that they can enter the subconscious mind of the viewer. If you don't know it's there it couldn't possibly do anything, right?
That being said, I guess that's worth a try. I guess once I finally get this experiment under way I'll just toss that in as one of many different aspects.
Would any of you know a good way to enter into the practice of the arcane arts? I ask this mainly because a friend and myself are interested in magic, but due to our general location (the middle of the bible belt, set in what can only be described as hillbilly heaven) have no access to any readily available materials or knowledge. Any recommendations of sites, books, materials, etc would be appreciated.

For the past several years now this (all of this) has remained a constant interest of mine. That being said, I never actually sought to apply anything at any time. Recently, however, I've grown much more interested in energy work /and/ with that interest comes an interest in learning to do it.

Basically. Whatever you want to call it, it exists, in everything. I can see it too, by identifying aura signatures, and even energy present of non-human entities. Something that has always struck me as odd is that I can feel that plants and animals are 'alive' but I don't really see them like humans/ect. Perhaps because they have no souls. /shrug.

A friend and I are planning to go urban exploring soon, so we might encounter some malevolent spirits or whatever. Those hang out at abandoned buildings right? Anyway, in case that happens, what are some good ways to make them go away? Do you have a taser, Blue? That might just do it. No need to go drawing circles in the ground and doing weird stuff, we don't really know what you might be unleashing there, just because somebody compiled stuff, doesn't mean it's a-ok, it could be VERY wrong and unpleasant for your safety.
Wear also clothes that allow you to move light and fast, since you are into urban exploring I'm going to assume you're in great shape, perhaps you do some sports, freerunning maybe? That could be the best gun to hold on to. Also, if you are not into running, but are fit and ready to go if need be, be careful about your footwear, one finger bigger than your usual size, big woolen socks and proper footwear, mountain maybe, they're a bit pricy, but worth it, I'm into sports, and my doctor recommended them to me so it's not made up stuff.
I wasn't sure if I should just use the thread the last guy used for this, but I figured that since it was last posted in last year, a new thread was warranted.
I'm trying to create a tulpa. I've created a sigil for her on a card that has her name and the desired characteristics for her, and I've fed it some blood and semen. Since I created it yesterday, I've been visualizing her as existing around me at all times. Talking to her with my mind or my voice at times as well, and trying to will energy into her. It seems to be becoming easier to keep visualizing her as a background process in my brain, but so far the only indication of her actually existing has been some emergent behavior, and unexpectedly falling asleep once during energy feeding. I'm trying to create her with sentience from the beginning, in the hopes that she won't go out of control when she develops it anyway. Any advice?

I personally don't think ritual is necessary... I figure that if one pays enough attention and thus puts in enough energy to something, it might be more than enough to "bring it to life" as it were.

You might well ask if it's necessary to go through ritual for any magical process, or anything that requires a ritual in the first place - and in many cases, I don't think you would need one, strictly speaking. However, a lot of folk (myself included) may find formulating the process through ritual useful, and if such is the case, then for those folk, the ritual may be handy/necessary.

I've a couple of things you can try out, if you like:
Do things that tie into the concept of companionship in order to give her energy/associate her presence with that concept/etc. For example, if you're sitting playing a game, converse with her. Charge the sigil through a fun, enjoyable, ecstatic-gnosis method like a rollercoaster ride or dancing - something positive that you associate with friends, so that you can use it to work up a kind of emotional/mental peak of momentum in order to charge/fire her sigil. Bring her out often so you can "get a feel" for what it feels like when she's around, and definitely bring her into the kind of situations that you've designed her for. You may want to symbolically tie her to some kind of outside...
