Well then, perhaps it is different where we live. Most people around here would not bother calling the cops if they didn't like someone walking around with a mask on, for whatever reason.
The YouTube idea could go somewhere. One could almost turn it into a highly-personalized ARG. The first YouTube post must be video of the person who finds the aforementioned notes, and one of the notes must feature the link to the account featuring the video. The video could feature the subject at the site of the notes, or it could go a little futher and show clips of him or her at the site, on the way home, and at home.
The following-home one works well for the purposes of this synthesis.
The end of the video could feature the person who filmed it in plague doctor garb doing something stereotypically creepy: Chopping up a "body," "disposing" of something vaguely human-shaped, maybe something as simple as a gesture and a laugh.
Then, one day, the person who decided to film the subject could dress as a plague doctor and loiter about the subject's neighborhood.
This is dangerous, possibly unlawful, and vaguely unrealistic. But I think the payoff would be immense.
We could repeat this process numerous times for a bunch of people, too. You really only need a good deal of...

hey, there was a good thread on BEK's at the old board, and in it was a link to a company's website that produced all sorts of patterned contact lenses (zombie eye, black eyes and such) that I would like to look over for my Halloween costume next year. would anyone happen to have that? it would be much appreciated.

If all of you are still interested in making this, even if it is as simple as a Choose Your Own Adventure game for now, I'd guess that you guys would want some OC pictures, rather than hunting all over the internet for related pictures.
I have found an excellent program used for drawing.
You can have multiple layers, and there are many, many tools to be used with the program.
Though it works MUCH better with a tablet, expensive or not, a mouse works just as well.
I promise you, download is safe.
I, along with 2 other friends, have downloaded and been using this software for at least a month and a half, with no problems.

Though it appears highly confusing (at least it did to me, at first), it takes about 5 minutes to learn how to do everything.
Don't make the same mistake I did.
Pay attention.
If you look where all the tools are (pen, air brush, water, eraser, etc), you can scroll down to find more!
I was looking for blur forever. ._.
I want to discuss the concept of making god forms. In the .pdf I posted there is a chapter that describes "Designer Divinity". I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in making a god or pantheon of deities to test the effects of it. Symbols, names, aspects, etc. I figure if they could do it, surely we could test it out to see how it works. So any ideas you have for doing this would be useful.
I vaguely remember the original idea, however I will paraphrase it as much as possible.
Basically, the ARGod would create a map with an X at a location. He would then divide this map into various pieces, and put each one in a red envelope, with a letter explaining the situation, and a website where other people who have found red envelopes can congregate and organize. At the location marked on the map, the ARGod would put something that would lead into the next "round" of the ARG, another clue to another objective, or something similar. (What that was, exactly, he had not thought out.) The ARGod planned to hold the piece of the map with the X himself, and pose as one who had found a red envelope, in order to manipulate the group from the inside out.
Foolproofing:
If a piece of the map has not been found within a month, it is presumed lost, destroyed ,or something similar. The ARGod will then reproduce that piece of the map, and put it in a red envelope as the original, and place it in another location to, hopefully, this time be found.
What do you Mad Scientists think of this?

Anything not planned out in detail has a great chance of running into major problems or falling apart. Even if the ARG doesn't seem intensely planned out to the players, the people in charge of everything should still know what they're doing.
People like ARGs, and people want to create their own, but it's hard work. It's just like creating a unique quest for D&D - if you half-ass it, things aren't going to go well.

Curious about the population here. I consider myself a jack of all trades and you know what they say: Jack of All Trades, Master at None. A reality that I'm starkly aware of. (When you know you're shit, you know exactly how far you are from great.)
I program (Web, Flash, iPhone, and going into OpenGL soon), I do 2D and CG graphics, write, and I'm a fairly good leader.
What are you all capable of? I know a large majority are writers or idea makers to some extent. Music and foley artists. 3D graphics guys. Filmmakers. Prop makers. Makeup artists. It would be nice to get a general idea.
Oh and I have a crazy idea which I'm just going throw out there:
Combine an ARG with this project on some level. Whether it be to combine an ARG with the video game somehow, or (less likely) as a starting point to gather a group of artists together.

Hey /sanc/
Is it possible for us /x/philes to EVER really get any project done?
I'm going to show you four projects I've been involved in in the fast few months, all of them ended up in fail:
1.- THE NEW EDEN PROJECT: http://xparanormal.ipbfree.com/index.php? This was an attempt to start a real life town populated with /x/ types. It was great for a while, as we all pontificated on what the rules of our town would be, and what the lifestyle would be. We sorted out education, governance, traditions, even a freaking radio station. I tried to give some ideas here and there, but in the end no one has the physical means to actually put real work. It ended up as just dreams. I don't blame them -too- much, since this was way too ambitious but... damn, I expected a little more.
Some time ago there was a forum about 'New Eden', it was supposed to be a plan to make a village separate from the world, with it's own government and all... I followed it for a while, but I lost track of it... Does anyone know how it ended up, and if it still exists, could you give me the link please? :3 thanks
